Hello Nelson Parents!
I hope all of you have had a wonderful summer but most importantly I hope that all of you are ready for BACK TO SCHOOL!! I know in some cases those 3 words are "scary" because with it comes the "chaos" that IS......Back To School. My hopes with this email, is to eliminate some of that chaos by allowing you to get one of your "to-do" items checked off your list.
In order to do ANY school related activity with your child on/off school grounds you MUST have a valid back ground check on file with our district and our school. Also, you are required to resubmit EVERY year regardless of the number of years you have been involved in our school or our district. This is for no other reason than to keep our kiddos safe, on and off school property. Here are just some, of the many, examples of school related activities that we do throughout the year: grand-parents day, Watch D.O.G.S., field trips, mystery readers, field day, fun run, musicals during school hours, class parties, etc
Please take a moment, now, before the school craziness starts, to get you and all of your family members over the age of 18yo (brothers, sisters, grand-parents, aunts, uncles, or any one that would be participating in activities at the school) in our system. Simply follow the link below and fill out an application. Make sure you review the "step-by-step" instructions attached. 11 quick steps and you will be set up for the 2015 - 2016 school year.
Please keep in mind that you WILL be filling out your application as a "volunteer". This in no way commits you to any volunteer activities, this is just the easiest way for the district to run your background check at no charge to you. After you have been "cleared" you will receive an email from me allowing you to specify your participation within our school.
REMEMBER:: You can also forward this email to family members for them to fill out as well!!
